Wellness Canada Accreditation is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards for the courses we accredit. Below, you’ll find a detailed description of the criteria we use to assess course applications. These guidelines ensure that all accredited courses meet professional, ethical, and educational standards, providing participants with high-quality learning experiences. Following these criteria lets you know exactly what to expect and feel fully supported throughout the process.

General Information

We assess whether the course is clear, structured, and relevant. For accreditation, your course must meet the following requirements:

  • The title is professional and directly reflects the course content.

  • Objectives are well-defined, measurable, and achievable.

  • The target audience is clearly identified, ensuring the content is appropriate for their needs.

  • Any pre-requisites are clearly outlined, so participants know what is required beforehand.

  • The course duration and structure are reasonable for the material being covered.

Course Content

Your course materials must be professional, coherent, and aligned with the stated goals. Specifically, we check that:

  • All materials are well-organized, original, and plagiarism-free.

  • Content aligns with the course objectives to create a clear learning pathway.

  • Ideas are presented logically, progressively building on each concept.

  • Practical applications, where relevant, are realistic and beneficial.

  • References are cited, ensuring credibility and transparency.

Student Outcomes and Support

Participants should leave their course feeling supported and prepared. To ensure this:

  • Courses should include a certificate of completion or similar acknowledgment.

  • Post-course resources (e.g., reading lists or tools for continued learning) must be offered.

  • Students should have access to support, whether for technical questions or additional guidance during the course.

Documentation Submission

Complete and accurate documentation is vital for the accreditation process. Submissions must include:

  • A detailed syllabus and course outline.

  • Sample materials, such as slides or handouts, for review.

  • Instructor credentials to establish expertise.

  • Feedback or testimonials from past participants, if available.

Ethical Standards

Integrity and inclusivity are key to course accreditation. We require:

  • All content to be evidence-based, accurate, and free from misleading information.

  • A strong adherence to ethical guidelines, ensuring inclusivity and prioritizing client well-being.

  • No exaggerated claims or promises, such as guaranteed outcomes.

  • Content that is sensitive to cultural diversity and avoids bias or exclusion.

Delivery Method

We evaluate whether your course is accessible and effectively delivered. The key requirements include:

  • The chosen delivery format (e.g., online or in-person) suits the course objectives.

  • Instructor qualifications are documented and relevant.

  • Assessments, if used, are designed to evaluate participant understanding fairly.

  • Clear, step-by-step instructions are provided for all components of the course.

  • Accessibility considerations, such as captions or alternate formats, are addressed to accommodate all learners.

Accreditation Process

We require all courses to meet legal, ethical, and Wellness Canada-specific standards, including:

  • Adhering to copyright and other legal regulations.

  • Aligning with our accreditation values and quality benchmarks.

  • Transparently disclosing any third-party affiliations or endorsements.

Compliance and Accreditation Standards

To earn accreditation, a course must meet at least 80% of the above criteria. If your course does not meet the standards, we’ll provide feedback to help you improve. Upon successful accreditation, your course will be certified for a specified period (e.g., three years), with clear instructions for renewal.

By upholding these standards, we ensure that all accredited courses reflect our commitment to excellence and our members’ success. If you have any questions or need further guidance, we’re here to help every step of the way!
